Morning Poem by Danielle D. Curtis 0

Feb12

Woke early one morning,
the earth lay cool and still,
when suddenly a tiny bird,
perched on my window sill,
it sang a song so lovely,
so carefree and so gay,
that slowly all my troubles,
began to slip away,
it sang of far off places,
of laughter and of fun,
it seemed his very song,
brought out the morning sun,
I pulled back the covers,
and crept slowly out of bed,
and gently shut the window,
and crushed his freaking head,
I’m not a morning person

For You by Nina Melito 0

In the room across the hall
Sitting on his bland oak chair
Sat Ned, the most popular of all
Among the other students there
Writing quietly with an intent stare.

He wrote to the one whom he cherished
With confidence in his pen
But suddenly that confidence perished
He had heard a noise just then
Like a lion pacing in his den.

He placed his feet flat on the floor
And gripped the wrinkled paper fast
And heard the squeak of the door
As the Teacher sternly asked
That up front the paper be passed.

The situation went from good to scary
His face turned a striking red
Like a freshly picked strawberry
The students whispered, ‘Go on, Ned’
The teacher insisted that the note be read.

As Teacher scanned the crinkled sheet
Her face was strained and aglow
And read from Ned’s horrible feat
‘Dear Clarice, I must know,
Will you date me, yes or no?’

In the room across the hall
Sitting on his bland oak chair
Sat Ned, the most popular of all
Among the laughing students there
Making excuses with an embarrassed stare.

The Moose by Zack B. London 0

A scream shot through the frigid air
In Fairbanks by the street
Two moose together by the road
Just one was on its feet

The parents covered children’s eyes
So that they couldn’t see
The cops arrived but far too late
The moose began to flee

A prize for if you find the moose
Was promised to the peeps
For Fairbanks had a special law
Moose can’t screw in the streets

All down the road the moose were chased
Escaping at the end
But right away the cops showed up
And flew around the bend

The sound of shots rang through the air
The cops had acted fast
The guns had finished firing
That moose had humped his last

A scream shot through the frigid air
In Fairbanks by the street
Two moose together by the road
Just one was on its feet

My Homework by Michael Rawlinson 0

Sometimes my homework is small
Sometimes my homework is long
But whenever i do my homework
My homework is always wrong

Sometimes I do my homework at a slow pace
Sometimes I do my homework in the fast lane
But however I do my homework
my homework is still a pain

Sometimes my homework is easy
Sometimes my homework is hard
But whenever i can’t do my homework
I feel like a retard

How School Works by Steven J. Engelhardt 0

Spectacular!
Today is Monday,
You’re off to that dreaded place,
5 days a week you spend here,
You’ll never escape!

You have your books,
You have your brain,
When the day is through,
It’ll be in a lot of pain,
And you have your friends,
Some good and some great,
But talk to them too much and you’ll be late.

Keep your grades up though and watch with care,
Someday you’ll look at colleges and say I want to go there,
So with your head full of knowledge and shoes full of feet,
If you let it, school can help you accomplish any feat!
