The Days When We Were Young

Posted in MySpace Childhood Poems by MySpace Poems on July 17, 2008.

Sister! Sister! don’t you remember
The days when we were young?
The long, long days, with a light and a shade
Like the pearls of a necklace strung,
Like the pearls of a necklace strung?
They are gone, with all our yesterdays –
We seek their like in vain;
But we will shed no tears for them
While the bright todays remain,
While the bright todays remain.

Sister! Sister! don’t you remember
The days when we were young?
The homely house in the fat, far away,
Where the love of our childhood clung,
Where the love of our childhood clung?
There is naught to mark that sacred spot,
Save now the beaten loam;
Yet distant altars have we rear’d
In the bless-ed name of home,
In the bless-ed name of home.

Sister! Sister! don’t you remember
The days when we were young?
The mates of childhood — the friend of our youth –
We companion’d and lov’d among,
We companion’d and lov’d among?
Some are wand’ring far, and some in death
Have closed their weary eyes;
But we rejoice in new found friends,
While we weep for broken ties,
While we weep for broken ties.

The Forgotten Child

Posted in MySpace Childhood Poems by MySpace Poems on July 17, 2008.

A childhood forgotten or perhaps the forgotten child
But the child never forgets

The words
The whispers
The screams
The pleas
The sounds
The sights
The smells
The fear
The scars
The humiliation
The tears
The guilt
The lies

Close my eyes and it will disappear
Like me it doesnt exist
It never happened
Forget the forgotten child
Another forgotten childhood or perhaps a forgotten child

Childhood Faded Away

Posted in MySpace Childhood Poems by MySpace Poems on July 17, 2008.

Childhood Faded away,
to a far away land,
simple, so simple were we,
Days of Play,
Going our Way,
Having fun, no care,
for another day,
time for us stood still,
playing king of the hill
Childhood Faded away
thinking of another day,
summer time was fine,
when friends were kind,
swiming holes were filled,
our hearts were thrilled
Childhood Faded Away
to a time that makes me sway
many years have passed away,
since childhood faded to another day,
Childhood Faded to places,
UNKNOWN TO US
floating somewhere in time.

Mid East Metaphor

Posted in MySpace Courage Poems by MySpace Poems on July 17, 2008.

matador skewered by the horn
reverential recital of courage
and loss

cession of pain is a concession that came

with death

for the one whose convergence from boyhood to man
happens so young

indignation and blame in
a myopic world

from which distant objects can not be seen
nor voices heard

edification will stop on a pier
like the unfulfilled bridge
of San Luis Rey

your wish

Posted in MySpace Courage Poems by MySpace Poems on July 17, 2008.

stop ignoring
ignorance is not an answer
take the courage to spill the truth
the truth that lies within

tell me you wish me to leave,
tell me you wish me to stay,
i wish to stay,
your wish will decide
